Although UV ink is a kind of environmental protection ink, but it will inevitably produce pungent odor, bring a small amount of harm. It should be noted that the cheaper the UV ink, the greater its toxicity and harm.
Causes:
1.The odors of the raw materials of UV INK itself:such as monomers, photoinitiators AND resin linkers, will slowly release pungent odors when you open the lid of the UV ink bottle. This is the opening of the lid by surprise;
2.UV ink curing process odor: ink photoinitiator, acrylic resin and other raw materials after cracking aldehyde, sulfur irritant gas.
3.UV ink curing odor: part of the monomer and resin reaction is not complete, those without adequate reaction of the "acrylic" component, will produce a pungent sour odor. Moreover, if these unreacted monomers are low molecular weight and low boiling point monomers, they may volatilize foul odor at room temperature, especially monomer. If the monomer and resin used in UV ink is of good quality, there is no odor problem, then the initiator may be the largest source of pungent odor of UV ink.
4.UV ink cleaning liquid: generally 100%VOC solvent, belonging to organic volatiles, there is also a pungent odor.
At present, most of the pungent odor of UV printing mainly comes from volatiles released before and after UV ink curing.
The pungent smell of UV ink

Elimination method:
1, replace the UV ink required by UV machine, using environmental protection green ink, does not contain VOC and other chemicals;
2. Add deodorant and other ingredients in UV ink, which needs to be carried out under the guidance of the manufacturer to avoid blocking the nozzle and ink;
3, UV ink printing good pattern, need to be placed in a ventilated place for more than 4-12 hours, can remove odor.
Note: It is worth noting that the odor itself volatilization speed will be very fast, will not stay on the surface of the substrate for a long time, the operator only need to stay above 2 meters from the UV flatbed printer printing platform, generally can avoid the ink odor stimulation.
